$450.00

Numbered + stamped edition of 100. 6 1/2″ × 9 1/4″ hand-pulled lithograph housed in a foil-stamped portfolio, inside a slipcase with the book.

This beautiful lithograph reproduces a very early Nancy collage, Untitled (Nancy with Gun), c. 1964, one of the first in which Brainard appropriated the classic comic strip character Nancy and altered the world in which she exists. Executed at Angeles Press in Los Angeles by master printer Toby Michel, this lithograph has an attention to detail that brings the colored newsprint original alive. This limited edition of one hundred was commissioned specifically for the release of the The Nancy Book and is numbered and stamped by the Estate of Joe Brainard, initialed by the publisher and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Hand-pulled lithograph on Hahnemühle museum etching paper, 350 gsm. Housed in a foil-stamped portfolio and slip-cased with the first edition of The Nancy Book by Joe Brainard.

about limited editions

We sometimes make limited editions in collaboration with the artists and writers we publish to extend the published work in a compelling way. A siglio edition might include an artist’s multiple, an original work of art, a facsimile, or a fabricated object: always something imaginative, beautifully executed, and fairly priced.

Siglio limited editions are valued by individuals as well as institutions. Our limited editions can be found in the libraries of the Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Walker Art Center, and the Hessel Museum at Bard, Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, as well as the special collections of NYU, Stanford, Brown, University of Chicago, Smith College, the Beinecke at Yale and the Danowski Poetry Library at Emory, among many others.

A list of our sold-out limited editions can be found here.

Standing orders or advance reservations for limited editions can be arranged by contacting lisa (at) sigliopress (dot) com.

Please note that prices rise as availability decreases and thus are subject to change.

✼ events:

Time for the 20th NY Art Book Fair, 9/24-27! siglio’s at table #1 in Room M (in excellent company—a whole world in this room!). There will be new books, new ephemera, discounts on the back list, and little surprises, too. We love this fair, truly. Nowhere else do you see the imagination, ingenuity, stamina, and dedication of so many people making very special kinds of books, and nowhere else do you see so many more people delighting in them. That Printed Matter has been holding this fair for twenty years evinces the very inviting and energetic space along the edges, in the margins, outside the mainstream. Hope to see you there!
