Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair + Two Siglio (Online) Events!

February 16th, 2021

Printed Matter’s Virtual Art Book Fair, February 24-28

Join us at the first virtual art book fair hosted by Printed Matter! We’ve created a special Siglio satellite at PMVABF to peruse curated selections of titles and find new ways to enter/engage the Siglio website. While we are really missing seeing folks in person, this is the next best thing. As usual Siglio books will be 25% off during the fair, and Siglio publisher Lisa Pearson will be available throughout to chat, answer questions, etc. We’ll also have a little rotation of videos to look outside the window at Siglio HQ.

Don’t miss two fair events, both on Saturday, February 27.

First, a live chat from 11 a.m. – 12 noon EST at the Siglio PMVABF site with artist Richard Kraft about his forthcoming five-volume set of artist’s books “It Is What It Is”: All the Cards Issued to Donald Trump, January 2017 – January 2021.

(There’s also a Brooklyn Rail New Social Environment conversation with Richard and poet Mónica de la Torre, followed by a poetry reading by Peter Gizzi, on Friday, February 26, at 1 p.m. (It’s archived here to watch anytime!)

And at 3:30–5pm EST: Surviving Death with Madeline Gins: A Conversation with Paul Chan and Lucy Ives. Artist Paul Chan and writer Lucy Ives will discuss the writing, architecture, and life of Madeline Gins (1941–2014), a visionary interdisciplinary thinker and artist who, with her partner Arakawa, created the experimental architectural project Reversible Destiny, through which they sought to arrest mortality by transforming the built environment. Chan and Ives will explore related themes in critical theory, philosophy, and contemporary arts practice, as well as the editorial process for The Saddest Thing Is That I Have Had to Use Words: A Madeline Gins Reader, a collection of Gins’s long out-of-print or unpublished writings.
